Describe the company – the elevator pitch …
Qmeeto is a cloud based event management platform that makes it faster and easier to manage corporate meetings and events. According to ‘Forbes Magazine’ event coordinators have the 4th most stressful job in the US. We’ve worked within the industry for many years and recognised that a lot of this stress is down to managing complex logistics.
We wanted to build a system that would make meetings and events easier to manage, with less stress and fewer things to worry about. In a nutshell, we want to help event planners produce better events. We took a close look at how logistics are currently managed and spotted a gap in the market for something more automated, a centralized system to manage corporate meetings.
Through Qmeeto, event planners can manage every aspect of a meeting or event. The software allows them manage online registration, send our branded emails, build up an agenda with multiple breakout sessions, create customized itineraries with travel, accommodation and schedule and punch our real-time reports. Whatever the task, Qmeeto is one of the simplest ways to stay in control of all the different elements.
How are you different?
Traditionally, event management platforms are clunky. They are over-complex, involve specialised training and are time-consuming. These systems are becoming antiquated and not built for today’s multi-device marketplace. Simplicity has always been a priority for us. We have streamlined the entire process and built the system to mirror how event planners work. The platform is clean, clear and very easy to use.
Our key differentiator is our focus on the corporate market, in particular small to medium sized meetings and events. Most systems on the market are built for managing large-scale congresses with thousands of attendees, but we carried our extensive research and discovered a growing shift from larger congresses to smaller more personalised events. In fact, 64% of all meetings and events that take place have less than 100 attendees. When events are smaller in size, there is often more speaker and attendee management involved such as building customized agendas, organizing travel, hotels, transfers etc. Qmeeto eliminates hours in administration by automatically transforming complex logistics into a professional, personalised master event itinerary for each attendee.
Qmeeto is the first system to streamline logistics and make the event itinerary process fast and efficient.

Why will the company / product do well?
There’s no denying that the event tech space is a busy market. You’ve got some really great systems already out there, but the majority of them focus on ticketing and registration or are on-site event apps. Our focus is on event logistics. Corporate meetings and events are often internal or sponsored and have less of a need for ticketing and more of a need for attendee management. Our technology allows event professionals to engage with their attendees in an exciting and interactive way. The system also encourages better team collaboration and communication around events, with each team member contributing to the same set of data in real-time.
Where are you based? How long will you stay there?
We’re based in the Kerry Technology Park and have been here since Jan 2014. The broadband is excellent, in fact the high speed fibre was one of our main reasons for moving here. We’re also on the same campus as the Tralee Institute of Technology, which gives us great access to research facilities, students and networking events. We’re not planning on moving anytime soon, as long as there is space to expand we’re happy. Plus the beach is only a few miles out the road, always an added bonus.
When was the company launched?
Although we have been working on the system for the past 2 years Qmeeto was officially launched in Nov 2014
What have been your biggest wins to date?
We’ve been shortlisted for Best New Technology Startup at the UK Event Tech Awards, which we were delighted about as it gives us exposure in the UK. We’ve also made it to the next stage of the InterTrade Ireland Seedcorn competition. More recently, we were on Newstalk’s The Right Hook ‘Business Showcase’ which has helped build awareness.

What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?
Our target customers are corporate event managers in Ireland and the UK. With increasing professionalism, organisations are looking for technology like Qmeeto that will help them offer a more professional and personalised experience for their corporate attendees, while making them more efficient. We want to talk to event planners, executive assistants, PA’s and HR managers who are involved in organizing multiple meetings and events throughout the year. These are meetings such as advisory boards, sales meetings, focus groups, field trips and so on.

What are you long term plans for your product / company?
We’d like to be known as the number one event management software for the corporate market. At the moment we’re working closely with our customers to see what new and exciting functionality we can add to the system over the coming months. Our early adopters will be the driving force behind Qmeeto development.
What are your favourite tech gadgets?
It may be an obvious choice, but we’re big Apple fans. Few products can match the look, feel and functionality of an Apple product. Between us all we’ve gone through the entire range, however the iWatch is still on the list.
What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?
The Beam looks pretty cool. http://www.beamlabsinc.com
It’s a smart LED projector that fits into any light socket and is controlled by your smartphone or tablet. It raised $750k on Kickstarter this year and is in production right now. We’ll be keeping an eye out for it.
