10th Career Zoo Event to Focus on Big Data, Fintech and Women in Tech

Career Zoo is returning to the Convention Centre, Dublin for its 10th event this September 12th.

Having  launched in 2011 with 50 stands in the Round Room of the Mansion House, Career Zoo has now seen over 83,000 visitors at its events, and has welcomed over 300 high-profile speakers.

Announcing details of the tenth Career Zoo event today, Director at Career Zoo, Brian Ó hOisín said, “It’s incredible that we are now celebrating our tenth event. During our relatively short history, we have seen considerable changes not only in terms of the economy but also in terms of those attending our event. When we began, we were still very much in the depths of the economic crisis and Ireland’s tech sector had yet to truly flourish.

“Now, not only is the country in recovery mode, candidates too have a different outlook. The vast majority of attendees at our events are now already in employment and are looking for new challenges and career progression opportunities. Their skill-set has also changed. They are more experienced and are better prepared for Ireland’s growing digital economy.

“Career Zoo events have a real buzz and sense of optimism about them, with some of the most exciting employers in the country involved and lots of relevant, tailored content for 21st Century employees.”

Smart Badging Technology for Employers and Attendees

Smart badging technology for employers and attendees will return for Career Zoo 10, following its successful introduction at the spring event. This allows companies and candidates to digitally share content such as CVs, company profiles and videos, with an average of 440 CVs collected digitally by each employer involved in Career Zoo last spring.

New additions for Career Zoo 10 include an emphasis on opportunities in Big Data and Fintech, key growth sectors for the Irish economy; a focus on Women in Tech; and a Start Up area to support new indigenous organisations.

“Bringing talent and opportunity together has always been our top priority and, with each Career Zoo event, we want to add even more new features to reflect current trends in the employment market and Ireland’s wider economy. This September, we will put the spotlight on Big Data and Fintech, areas that the government have identified as key priorities where we can gain considerable advantage, continued Mr. Ó hOisín.

Also returning for Career Zoo 10 will be Tech Town, BioCluster (sponsored by Amgen), the International Financial District, Tech Box, coding workshops, and the Speaker Series, featuring key industry leaders and enlightening panel discussions.

Career Zoo will take place on Saturday, 12th September, at the Convention Centre Dublin for one day only from 10am to 5pm. For further information and to register, go to www.careerzoo.ie
