It appears that BIS (BlackBerry Internet Services) is experiencing problems in at least the UK and Ireland. Hopefully it’ll be sorted soon. Is it down for you? Let us know below in the comments section or online @Irish_technews

UPDATEUK_BlackBerry BlackBerry UK: Some users in EMEA are experiencing issues. We’re investigating, and we apologise for any inconvenience.

UPDATE2: This seems to be a major problem now and we’ve still heard no time scale on it being fixed from RIM. We’ll keep you informed of any updates. Hopefully it wont last much longer.

UPDATE3: Looks like BIS is back up and running. If it isn’t for you then try a 30 second battery pull. If it still isn’t hang in there. It should be back up very soon. (We think email has started working but data is still intermittent for many).

UPDATE4: And we’re back. 6.00am. If you’re still having problems try a battery pull.

UPDATE5: 12pm, spoke too soon. It appears down again. Will keep you posted. Switch to wifi if you can to continue receiving email and use data

UPDATE6: 9.30pm Oct 11th, God this is a long post. BlackBerry posted on twitter:

@BlackBerry Research In Motion
Message delays were caused by a core switch failure in RIM’s infrastructure. Now being resolved. Sorry for inconvenience.
Lets hope this is nearly over for us all
