Sky have introduced a new feature that will allow you record or watch TV shows straight from Twitter. Using the hashtag  #WatchOnSky, Tweets about shows from Sky’s Twitter accounts will now include “Watch” and “Record” buttons which take you straight to the Sky Go App, allowing you to watch it on your device or set it to record remotely.

Commenting on the new features, Mark Anderson, Director of sales and marketing, Sky Ireland said “#WatchOnSky is another brilliantly simple way for our customers to find and watch the shows everyone is talking about

“It’s all part of our commitment to make it even easier for our customers to discover great TV and make sure they never miss those virtual water cooler moments.”

The #WatchOnSky hashtag will appear across Sky’s Twitter feeds on @SkyHD and @SkyAtlantic, as well as with sporting events and movies.

#WatchOnSky is a really exciting development that will make it even easier than ever for Twitter users to spot social buzz about a show, and tune in or record it for later” added Dan Biddle, Head of Broadcast, Twitter UK.

We’re delighted to see Sky innovating with this service and look forward to seeing Twitter users enjoy this functionality.

How does it work?WatchOnSky 1

If you’re a Sky TV customer, you just need to make sure your Sky+HD box is linked to your Sky ID. This allows you to watch a show we tweet about when you get home or on the go, all at no extra cost.

When you see a #WatchOnSky tweet from Sky, you can expand the tweet and tap on icons, which lets you access Sky Go or record shows to your Sky+ HD box.
