The internet is full of rumours today from “sources” which have spoke to All Things D. As with any rumour coming close to an Apple product launch take them with a pinch of salt but obviously one of these rumours will be pretty close to the truth. A March launch would certainly fit in and with Apple riding the crest of a wave at the moment in terms of sales and stock price at the moment, it would make sense to keep that momentum going and launch the next iPad (2S or 3?!)

Rumours still persist of the next iPad rocking a Retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536, LTE support and a Quad core processor but part of me wonders just how far Apple will go. They still dominate the Tablet market. While Android has gained, mainly due to the Kindle fire, Apple still holds 60 to 70% of the market, so like with the iPhone 4S, how far do they have to go to really maintain that? It’s hard to say. The fact there is little or no content available for a screen resolution so high and that they fact that the iPad works pretty well with it’s current CPU/ GPU, my guess would be that we will see a new iPad with a screen that is full HD but not as high as rumoured, a GPU upgrade to cope with the extra resolution without slow downs and an incrementally increased CPU. Of course I am only surmising and Apple could push the boat out, but recent history and sales figures show they don’t need to. Next move is Apple’s!

Let us know what you’d like or think we’ll see when it’s announced below.
