1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

Currently I’m pushing hard to finalize the relaunch of our website, which I’m going to present at 3XE. Lots of details to check and fix but I’m very optimistic that we’re going to launch a great product within the next weeks.

How was the last 12 months, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?

In the last 12 months we’ve developed a new backend for our website on Drupal 8, redesigned the frontend from scratch, performed a content audit and based on it rebuilt the information architecture. At same time we’ve streamlined and simplified the content management process. The goal was to create the best possible experience for the website visitors and giving a powerful and easy to use toolbox to the editorial team as they had to rebuild every single piece of content in the new system.

What are your plans for the future?

The launch of the new website will be my last project at WWF. After 13 years it’s time to move on and from November 1st I’ll be the new CEO of getunik, a Zurich based digital agency. In this role my goal is to assist non-profits in their digital transformation with a strong focus on digital fundraising and marketing automation. 

What will you be talking about at this event? (brief taster)

Since we had to rebuild the whole website from scratch we had the chance to incorporate SEO at the core of everything we did. So from the first analyses to every single meta tag we tried to follow the known best practices. I’ll be speaking about tricks and tools we used and the challenges we faced on our road.

What inspired you to attend it?

To be honest I didn’t know about 3XE before I was contacted by them. After having read their concept I felt that the conference is a great chance to meet and learn from brilliant minds. And I’ll take the occasion to spend some days in Dublin which must be a beautiful city.
