Describe the company – the elevator pitch …
InspireMe.ie is a new event guide for Ireland that will allow people search for events regardless of scale, based on their location, interests and accessibility issues. We give event organisers a platform to promote their event easily. We give free listings to charity and community groups to facilitate fundraising and foster community spirit.
How are you different?
By clearly listing the accessibility of a venue we enable those with special needs to find events suitable for their requirements. We also actively promote inclusion by providing event organisers with information on how to make their events more accessible. We cover a wide range of events so there is something for everyone. Our searches are done using location maps and so results are not shown on a county by county basis – an important consideration when you live in a town that borders several counties.
All events are subject to approval by us, so we can keep the content on the site appropriate for our users.
Why will the company do well?
We are committed to promoting small events that currently have no place on other event guides. We have put a lot of resources into our UX to ensure that those without major technical experience can easily navigate the site and upload their own events. We aim to have something for everyone one on the site. So a family where one child has autism, Mom does triathlons and Dad loves photography can all find inspiration in one place without having to trawl through several different sites.

Where are you based?
We are based in Co. Tipperary but are covering all of the Republic of Ireland with a particular emphasis on events in rural areas.
When was the company launched?
We launched the website on Friday 13th January. We are so confident with our product that superstitions don’t faze us!
What have been your biggest wins to date?
Our web developers Matrix Internet have been fantastic, not only for the design of the site but additionally for including us in several networking and educational events where we have met some inspirational business people, and from whom we have gleaned lots of expert advice.
A Clonmel based photographer, John D Kelly, provided us with images for the site, that have helped us create a truly Irish feel to the website. Stock photographs would not have had the same impact.
What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?
We aim to have something for everyone on the site. If someone is travelling through an area, they can find out about the local events which currently may only be advertised by a road sign. Some of the best days to be had in Ireland are those which you happen upon unexpectedly – the singing circle in a pub, the pony racing on the beach, the family fun day in the local GAA club. And in every case it will be clear whether an event is accessible, pet-friendly, family-friendly, accessible by public transport.
We envisage that inspireme.ie will be an invaluable resource for tourists, domestic and international. We will give people information regarding events and attractions at their destination, allowing them to experience the true spirit of our country.

What are your favourite tech gadgets?
Aoife says: I adore my HP Spectre Laptop and iPhone 7. Both give me the freedom to work wherever and whenever I wish.
What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?
Aoife says: My Canon DSLR camera was recently stolen. It was fantastic for documenting various events and providing images for the site. I am lost without it, and will have to replace it soon..
