BEUTiFi.com is a website aimed at helping people operating in the hair and beauty sectors grow their business and attract new clients. Aiming to expand quickly, this start up will provide a centralised platform for these professionals, many who don’t already have an online presence.
We spoke with Rich Spence, founder of BEUTiFi.com, to find out more about the platform and their journey to this pint.

Q1 Hi Richie. Can you tell me what service BEUTiFi.com offers?

BEUTiFi.com is a website and platform specifically designed to help salons and independent professionals in the hair and beauty sectors to promote and grow their business, to find new clients, to generate new revenue streams and to secure a strong online presence. Recognising a need for businesses to move away from deals type websites, BEUTiFi.com was designed to be much more multi dimensional, to provide the businesses in the hair and beauty sector with an online presence and a host of tools to help grow its business. Some people have described us as a cross between HAILO and Airbnb for the hair and beauty sectors, a comparison we do like!

Q2 Who are your target market?

Hair and Beauty Salons & independent professionals are our target market. While currently approx. 60% of these have no online presence at all, we aim to ensure all of them are listed on BEUTiFi.com. We are trying to move this whole sector online and to aggregate the content, providing consumers in Ireland (and soon internationally) with the largest possible choice of hair and beauty professional service providers in one place and to allow these consumers to browse, view and book the services they require.

Q3 How much does the service cost?

The service is free for consumers. Salons and professionals pay a very low monthly Direct Debit to be a part of BEUTiFi.com, starting at only €9.95 per month.

Q4 What advantages do you feel your service provides?

We enable salons and professionals in the hair and beauty sector to promote their business to a wide audience of people who may not know them, help them attract new clients, tap into younger online savvy clientele, increase salon revenues and embrace social media.

Salons and professionals can simply sign up online and create a full profile of their business, their team, services & prices, products used, qualifications, gallery of images, special offers and much more.

For consumers BEUTiFi.com makes it really simple and convenient for women to search and book hair and beauty services anywhere, anytime.

Q5 Can you tell me some more about the people behind BEUTiFi.com?

We have a great team with a strong mix of commercial, technology and hair and beauty sector experience between us who have worked in senior positions in companies such as CarTrawler, L’Oreal & Bausch & Lomb.

We have a team of 5 now and are a young and fun company with a serious passion for what we are doing, much like many of the businesses and professionals in this sector. We aim to help our clients enjoy it even more, without the worries of where the next client is coming from or if people out there know who they are and what they do.

Q6 When did you launch?

The website went live on 15th August 2014 after 3 years of research and work to get it to this point.

Q7 How has business been going since?

Great! It is early days, but we have been building very nicely since we launched and BEUTiFi.com currently has over 250 businesses on the platform, after only 4 weeks. We plan to have in excess of 1,500 by Christmas 2014 and to launch this business in other markets in 2015. We have had amazing feedback so far and have seen firsthand the business some of the companies on BEUTiFi.com have received through the website. That is a really great feeling, knowing the tool we have built really works for our customers.

Q8 What’s next for BEUTiFi.com?

We have some new features being launched in the coming weeks and our nationwide PR and Marketing campaign kicks into full gear in October. We will also be recruiting in the coming months.
